Jon Silkin

Jon Silkin founded Stand magazine in 1952 using £5 redundancy pay from the company where he was working. The £5 was spent on paper from the office as he walked out. As a major poet from then till his death in 1997, Jon Silkin spent a lot of time giving readings and running workshops in schools, colleges and Universities. One of these meetings is the subject of his recently discovered poem ‘School’.

Jon Silkin's work featured in Stand Magazine comprises one contribution of poetry. Also available is one review of Jon Silkin's work.
