Alfie Howard

Alfie Howard is an emerging writer and literary academic based in Leeds. He is the writer of two performed plays: 2027 (stage@leeds, 2018) and Shadowplay (stage@leeds, 2019). His short story ‘A Primitive Superstition’, about aliens encountering nuclear waste, was published by Culture Chain magazine in 2021, and his poetry has been accepted for publication in Touchstone (2023) and Poetry and Audience (forthcoming). His academic work explores representations of interspecies dialogue, species loss and language loss in fiction, including in the works of Salman Rushdie, Barbara Gowdy, and Andrus Kivirähk.
