Elio Cruz (1931-2019) was a Gibraltarian playwright, writing in both English and Llanito. He co-founded Theatre Group 56 with Luis Azzopardi and Cecil Gomez. His plays La Lola se va pa Londre and Connie con cama camera en el comedor are among the most successful staged in Gibraltar. He died on 14 June 2019, aged 87.
