Fred Beake was born in 1948, gained a Classics degree from Bristol as a mature student. He was editor of Poet’s Voice and Mammon Press. His poetry collections include The Cyclops (Menard), New and Selected Poems (Shearsman), and The Old Outlaw (Shoestring). He first appeared in Stand in 1971. His most recent collection is Out of Silence (Poetry Salzburg).
