James Sutherland-Smith

James Sutherland-Smith lives in Slovakia. He has published eight collections, the latest being Small-Scale Observations (Shearsman, 2022) as well as a bilingual chapbook published in Slovakia, The Red Bead of Blood (F.A.C.E., 2022). He has translated a number of Slovak and Serbian poets including a selection of Mária FerenĨuhová’s poems, Tidal Events (Shearsman, 2018).



James Sutherland-Smith's work featured in Stand Magazine comprises four contributions of poetry, two articles, and two reviews, over a period of 24 years. Also available are one review of James Sutherland-Smith's work and one translation by James Sutherland-Smith.
