Laura Wright is Professor of the History of the English Language at the University of Cambridge. Some of her recent books are Sunnyside: A Sociolinguistic History of British House Names (OUP, 2020), The Social Life of Words (Blackwell, 2023), and English Grammar for Literature Students: How to Analyze Literary Texts (De Gruyter, 2024).
