Lucy Calder has been writing poetry for several years and has published in Magma, The Moth, IS&T, and Acumen. She has an MSc in astrophysics and spent a number of years working on a book (unpublished) about the Dark Energy Survey (2020). She has completed a poetry collection based on physics and astronomy, and two of these poems are taken from that. She is currently travelling in Central America.
