Lydia Kennaway

Lydia Kennaway has an MA in Writing Poetry from Newcastle University, and her debut pamphlet, A History of Walking, was published by HappenStance Press in 2019. Her poems have appeared in eleven anthologies and in magazines including The Rialto, Raceme, Strix, and Poetry & Audience. She won the Flambard Prize in 2017 and was commended in the 2020/21 Magma Poetry Competition. She was Walk Listen Create’s Poet-in-Residence for 2021-22. In that role, she presented ‘Footloose’, a monthly online event featuring guest poets, close readings and conversation, mostly on the theme of walking. She is a New Yorker living in Yorkshire.
