Peter Sansom’s first of seven Carcanet collections was a Poetry Book Society Recommendation in 1990. Other titles include a Selected Poems and Careful What You Wish For, for which he received the Cholmondeley award in 2016. His latest book, Lanyard, is easily his best, or at any rate the most recent (2022). A former Fellow in Creative Writing at the University of Leeds, Peter is Co-Director with Ann Sansom of The Poetry Business in Sheffield, where they edit The North magazine and Smith/Doorstop Books.
