Petra Hilgers’s poetry has been published in magazines including South Bank Poetry, Pennine Platform, Under the Radar, Structo, Acumen, and The Dawntreader. Her poem ‘Say something back’ was highly commended in The Interpreter’s House’s 2019 Open House Poetry Competition. Her collection, The heart neither red nor sweet, won the 2021 erbacce poetry prize.
