Ralph Goldswain grew up in East London, and studied in Grahamstown, South Africa. He taught in Cape Town until he emigrated to the UK, where he pursued a teaching career. He is a prolific short story writer. His stories have been published in the UK and America, and he has published books on South Africa’s 1820 settlers, including his great-grandfather’s memoirs, The Chronicle of Jeremiah Goldswain, 1820 Settler.
