Robert Hamberger has been shortlisted and highly commended for Forward prizes, appearing in The Forward Book of Poetry 2020. He was awarded a Hawthornden Fellowship. His poetry has been broadcast on Radio 4, featured as a Guardian Poem of the Week and has appeared in British, American and Japanese anthologies and many magazines, including The Observer, The Spectator, New Statesman, Gay Times, Ambit, and The Poetry Review. His fourth collection, Blue Wallpaper, was published by Waterloo Press in 2019 and shortlisted for the 2020 Polari Prize. His memoir A Length of Road: finding myself in the footsteps of John Clare was published by John Murray in 2021.
