Stan Smith is Professor Emeritus at Nottingham Trent University, and author/editor of many books on Modernism, the Auden circus, and contemporary poetry. His first collection of poems, Family Fortunes, situating five generations of his family within the military and manufacturing history of the British Empire, was published by Shoestring Press in 2008. He is currently working on a second collection, Foreign Parts, which will include the poems published herewith.
